September 27, 2012 — Fr. Eric Bowman was with us tonight to talk about Confession.  Below are some of the highlights of his talk:

“Confession is our way of keeping our eyes on Christ…When we focus more on our surroundings than on Christ, we forget how to swim (St. Peter)…God does not change because God is perfect.  Our society is constantly changing because it is imperfect…”

-Daily suggestions to increase spiritual awareness and contrition:
1) Nightly Examination of Conscience (things we have and haven’t done)

-Book Recommendations:
1) Divine Intimacy (Fr. Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen)
2) The Life of Christ  (Archbishop Fulton Sheen)
3) Catholic Martyrs of the 20th Century (Robert Royal)
4) With God in Russia (Walter J. Ciszek)
